What is ePOD?
ePOD stands for electronic proof of delivery. Instead of a signed paper delivery note, the driver records the delivery on a phone with photos, a signature and a timestamp, and the record is available to the office immediately.
What does a driver capture at each drop?
Arrival and departure times, one or more photos, and a signature where you need one. Everything is recorded against the stop and visible to the office in real time.
Does it work without mobile signal?
Yes. Photos, signatures and stop times are stored on the phone and uploaded automatically when signal returns.
Can a POD carry our own job references?
Yes. Each stop can hold your booking reference, client reference and collection reference, whether the route comes from a CSV, the API or is entered by the driver.
Do drivers need a special handheld device?
No. ShiftsPod runs on any modern Android phone or iPhone. There is a native Android app and an installable web app for iPhone.
How long are PODs kept?
Two years by default, then they are deleted automatically. You can change the period for your company in Settings. See Security & Compliance.
Is ShiftsPod suitable for parcel or courier work?
It is built for HGV and haulage work: drops at depots, sites and distribution centres, with trailer checks and booking references. It is not designed for high-volume parcel delivery.
